OpenSSH on WindowsThe unofficial "official" release page |
OpenSSH is an open-source Secure SHell implementation. Cygwin is a POSIX emulation layer for Windows distributed by RedHat under both the GPL and commercial licenses. OpenSSH for/on Windows is a minimal compilation of the two.
The original package was assembled by Mark Bradshaw for Network Simplicity. Michael Johnson continued the project at sshwindows.sourceforge.net after it was shut down. This is an update.
Discussion forums are available here. Please do not ask OpenSSH on Windows specific questions on the Cygwin mailing lists.

The package sources are not required to install or run the software. Users wishing to manipulate/update the package would be much better served installing Cygwin (without OpenSSH for Windows installed - do not mix the two).
Cygwin is licensed under the GPL.
OpenSSH is licensed under a BSD license.
